Natural Language Processing Group at the Methods & Statistics Department
Natural Language Processing Lab at the Methodology and Statistics
The M&S Natural Language Processing (NLP) group, led by Dr. Ayoub Bagheri, is a passionate, inclusive group of students and faculty, postdocs and research engineers working together on research projects to understand, interpret and model natural language. The NLP group is embedded in the Department of Methodology and Statistics, and has strong links with the Human Data Science lab in the department, as well as with Utrecht University’s Applied Data Science focus area.
The research/teaching interests of this group are very broad, including fundamental research in text mining, natural language processing, machine learning, explainable AI, and practical applications of human language technology in computational social sciences and health research.
The NLP Group also develops a wide range of open educational materials on text mining and NLP, as well as many tools for the community to use.
